Access NI Checks

If you haven’t got an Access NI number - don’t delay!

The safety of young people at our residential camps is paramount. We therefore have a safeguarding policy and all of our volunteers, no matter their role or length of time they are at camp, abide with this policy.

Part of our approach to keeping young people safe is ensuring that volunteers have undergone the relevant background checks, carried out by Access NI.

If someone has undergone an Enhanced Check since August 2021, they can provide their Access NI number, and if possible submit a copy of their certificate to the Arura office. They will then be eligible to volunteer with Arura.

If someone wishes to volunteer but has never undergone an Enhanced Check or has not had one since August 2021, they will not be permitted to volunteer with Arura until a new check is done.

If you have not had a check done, don’t worry! There is still time to get one - please contact the Arura office by email here and we will begin the process.
